Senator is the pseudonym of Voyage Music label owner, Philip Rush.

Based in San Diego, CA, Senator started DJ’ing in the late 1990’s, primarily focusing on Big Beat and Downtempo. He quickly moved into drum n bass and became an avid promoter and DJ in San Diego. Over the years, Senator has played such clubs as Momentum (Leeds, UK), Mighty (San Francisco), Shelter (San Francisco), Deep (San Diego), Liquid (San Diego), and many more. With DJ sets alongside Klute, Marcus Intalex, Ant TC1, Survival, and DLR, Senator remains committed to pushing the edges of international Drum n Bass.

Senator launched Voyage Music in 2014 after his return from service in Afghanistan as a social scientist for the US military. Continuing his passion to actively contribute to electronic music, he created Voyage Music to share his own interpretation of not only Drum & Bass as a genre, but electronic music as a whole. The label includes a fully functioning e- commerce website and bi-weekly radio show on jungletrain.net. If you haven’t already seen, the label’s website includes casual apparel for guys and girls, stickers, radio show archives, label news, and a blog with insights into the electronic music scene.

Outside of his music career, Senator is co-owner and manager of Symbio Life LLC, a new company focusing on nutrition, body and hair care products. Based on the Moringa tree, a plant that produces some of the most nutritious leaves in the world, the company markets its products in the US and overseas.
